ENERGY EFFICIENCY MEETS DESIGN

PASSIVHAUS CERTIFIED GLASS SKYLIGHTS

Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus

Less heat transmission – more sustainability

Around a third of Germany's total energy consumption can be attributed to the use of buildings. This makes the efficient operation of residential and industrial buildings one of the greatest levers for climate protection. The aim is therefore to keep the heat inside the building, protect it from extreme weather and reduce electricity consumption through the intelligent use of building products. All these advantages are bundled in the form of Passivhaus, making them low-energy houses with maximum energy efficiency.

As a manufacturer of innovative daylight systems, LAMILUX makes a significant contribution to making buildings more sustainable. The new LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus was therefore developed with precisely this in mind. This is characterized by the following advantages:

Energy efficiency

New residential buildings are subject to ever stricter energy efficiency requirements. LAMILUX is therefore always responding to these challenges in the construction industry with technologies that make these goals achievable. Thanks to its quadruple-glazed insulating glazing with warm edge, the thermal bridge-free design and the optimized insulation core, the Glass Skylight meets the Passivhaus efficiency class phC. This keeps the heat inside the house in winter and outside in summer.

Design

It's not just the technical values that make the LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus an eye-catcher. Its classic and simple design not only impresses on the roof, but also allows residents to experience the environment around them without distractions. The certified Structural-Glazing design of the Glass Skylight also ensures that no dirty edges form on the glass surface. As a result, the aesthetics remain intact in all weather conditions.

Weather resistance

As daylight systems not only have to look great at any time of year, the LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus also impresses with important functionalities. Particularly in extreme weather conditions, which are becoming increasingly common due to climate change, the new product shines with its resistance to driving rain and stability even under high wind loads. These always meet the most important standards, ensuring that Passivhaus residents remain fully protected.

The standard

The award-winning LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE

As the name suggests, the new LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus is based on the award-winning FE model. This is characterized by the genuine glass glazing and its aesthetic aluminium frame in the product portfolio. Thanks to its architecturally sophisticated features, the Glass Skylight ensures a pleasant indoor climate and a constant incidence of daylight. For these reasons, it already adorns numerous houses, schools and offices around the world. The product is also a real all-rounder thanks to its wide range of sizes, colours and shapes. This has also been recognized by the selection committees of recognized awards, which is why LAMILUX has already received the German Design, Red Dot and Plus X Award. This has paved the way for the Passivhaus certified version.

Customer-centred innovation

LAMILUX is guided by its own CI philosophy when developing product innovations. “Customized Intelligence – Serving the customer is our first priority” - this is the motto of the family-owned company. For this reason, customer benefit is always the focus of the company's actions and quality, individuality of solutions as well as a pioneering spirit become shared values. The Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus is also characterized by these guidelines. From making installation on the roof easier by pre-assembling the products to ensuring a high level of living comfort for residents - all users are considered.

Energy conservation at the highest level

Every opening in the roof carries the risk of a significant amount of heat and energy being lost. Daylighting systems must therefore prevent this problem in the best possible way and prioritize energy efficiency. Passivhaus certifications stipulate detailed regulations that guarantee high energy savings. This way, up to 80 percent of energy can be conserved. The LAMILUX Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus fulfils exactly these rules and thus receives the efficiency class phC. This is made clear by the heat transfer coefficient of USK 0.85 W/(m²K) and the additional environmental product declaration.

Safety at all levels

But it is not just energy efficiency that is important to LAMILUX. Safety in every phase of the product's life is a top priority in the development of daylight systems. In addition to high resistance to driving rain and improved resistance to wind load, the developers also focus on fire protection. The Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus is therefore ideally suited as a natural smoke and heat extraction device, allowing rising smoke to be quickly extracted from the building in the event of a fire. Coupled with an intelligent building control system, the element opens when the heat and smoke load is too high or closes in the case of rain or strong gusts of wind.

Customized design variety

At LAMILUX, every daylight system is unique, as employees only manufacture the products with the highest precision and according to individual customer requirements once the order has been received. Any colour from the RAL chart can be selected for the edging profiles and the size, accessories and roof connection can also be adapted to the requirements of the building project. This attention to detail is also reflected in the elegant design, which underlines the value of the product with all its functions. The quadruple real glass glazing in combination with a classic aluminium frame makes the product's functions shine.

At home anywhere in the world

Thanks to its aesthetics and functionality, the Glass Skylight FE Passivhaus is ideal for residential and prestigious buildings - especially in cooler regions. As building requirements and regulations are constantly being tightened in this area, the new product is future-orientated and aims to achieve climate targets. In addition, numerous architects and building contractors have already committed themselves to sustainability by filling educational facilities with durable and natural materials. The LAMILUX daylight systems of the Passivhaus certified product range are therefore installed on a number of schools and daycare centres. Find out more here .
