Sustainable Redevelopment of Existing Buildings

Repurposing existing structures is a key step toward sustainable architecture. Demolishing old buildings and constructing new ones consumes vast resources and generates significant CO₂ emissions. By choosing to convert the production hall into an event location, the industrial character of the building was preserved while also contributing to a more resource-efficient construction approach. The renovation and modernization have not only enhanced the hall but also prepared it for a completely new use—an exemplary model of sustainable building culture.

Daylight for Energy Efficiency and Atmosphere

Modern repurposing requires more than just aesthetic upgrades. One of the key adaptations was enhancing the building’s daylight intake to improve both energy efficiency and overall ambiance. For this purpose, LAMILUX supplied 21 Continuous Rooflight S systems in various sizes, ranging from 2.4m to 3.9m in width and up to an impressive 27.8m in length. These daylight systems not only ensure ample natural lighting but also help reduce energy consumption. Thanks to high-performance glazing, the continuous rooflights also contribute to an optimal indoor climate, making the event hall a perfect setting for all kinds of gatherings.

Safety and Comfort with Advanced Smoke Ventilation Systems

A versatile event space must adhere to the highest safety standards, particularly in fire protection. To ensure the safety of visitors and exhibits, the LAMILUX continuous rooflight systems were integrated with smoke and heat exhaust ventilation (SHEV) systems. These systems allow for rapid smoke extraction in the event of a fire, ensuring a safer evacuation process. Additionally, they serve as an efficient daily ventilation solution, maintaining a comfortable indoor climate. This combination of safety and comfort is a crucial factor in the successful operation of a modern event hall.
