Daylight that connects –
Kompetenzzentrum Breisgau

Light-flooded working with a view

In Eschbach in southern Baden, the Kompetenzzentrum Breisgau is a pioneering new building - with a large LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60. It covers the central atrium of the building and creates a light-flooded sense of space that promotes dialogue, encounters and well-being.

A space for ideas - networked, open and sustainable

The Kompetenzzentrum Breisgau combines modern office units, co-working spaces, seminar and event areas as well as a restaurant with a roof terrace - all in a well thought-out architectural concept that focuses on encounters and communication. The atrium forms the centrepiece of the building and, thanks to the LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60, becomes a place that brings people and ideas together - regardless of the weather and with a constant connection to nature.

Working in the countryside with strong connections

Situated between the Black Forest, Alsace and nearby Switzerland, the Kompetenzzentrum combines a peaceful, natural environment with international accessibility. The location close to Freiburg and the direct connection to public transport make the site attractive for companies from the region - and beyond. The offer is complemented by a hotel directly opposite and an inviting lounge in the building itself, which creates an additional quality of stay.

Daylight as a central design element

The atrium not only forms the architectural centre, but also the emotional core of the building. To create a bright, natural atmosphere here, the LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60 was chosen. The generous glazing brings daylight deep into the interior of the building and thus ensures a pleasant indoor climate - regardless of the season or weather. At the same time, the imposing roof glazing maintains a visual connection to nature.

Technology, aesthetics and sustainability in harmony

The glass roof system used impresses with its high energy efficiency, slim profile design and stable supporting structure. It blends seamlessly into the sustainable building concept, which relies on photovoltaics, heated and chilled ceilings and modern building technology. With excellent thermal insulation values and a wide range of integration options, the LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60 makes a significant contribution to the architectural and functional quality of the project.

‘The atrium has been fitted with a very large Glass Roof from LAMILUX so that we get a lot of daylight in this area, even though it is an interior space. The collaboration with LAMILUX went smoothly right from the start - an all-round carefree package that I would be happy to recommend.’
