Daylight for Organic Shopping

The Byodo natural food store in Mühldorf am Inn now shines in new light. Since its founding nearly 25 years ago, Byodo has become one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of fresh tofu and tempeh. In addition to these specialties, the store also offers premium mustard, fine vinegars, Italian pasta, and exquisite oils. The sustainability and quality of the products should also be reflected in the building itself. The use of wood and glass achieves this goal, creating a natural and open atmosphere that invites visitors to stay and explore.

Optimal Use of Daylight

The 232-square-meter LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60 provides abundant natural light to the sales floor while offering numerous functional benefits. The expansive glass surfaces ensure an inviting and bright space, while built-in ventilation flaps regulate the indoor climate without the need for artificial lighting or fans. Additionally, these ventilation elements serve as smoke and heat exhaust ventilation (SHEV) units, ensuring safety in the event of fire.

Thermal Insulation Through the New Glass Roof

The integrated glass roof now offers excellent thermal insulation, contributing to the building’s energy efficiency. The system was precisely adapted to the existing timber substructure, allowing Byodo to create a customized grid layout that is both functional and visually appealing. This tailored solution enabled the installation of large glass surfaces without disruptive interruptions, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the store’s interior.

Comprehensive Service from LAMILUX

The low roof inclination of just three degrees posed a unique challenge that conventional solutions could not accommodate. Thanks to the architectural flexibility of the LAMILUX Glass Roof PR60, seamless integration into the building was achieved with ease. Additionally, the glass roof is particularly low-maintenance, saving the building owners both time and costs. These maintenance tasks are included in LAMILUX’s service package, as regular upkeep of the SHEV systems is crucial to maintaining safety and functionality.
