The Solemar thermal spa in Bad Dürrheim is a haven of relaxation and well-being. Spanning over 13,500 square meters, it offers a unique wellness experience featuring indoor and outdoor pools, steam baths, massage jets, and tranquil rest areas. With highlights like the Schwarzwald Sauna, WellnessCenter, and the Dead Sea Salt Grotto, Solemar invites visitors to unwind and recharge. As part of a comprehensive renovation, the skylights of the thermal spa were replaced, placing a strong focus on the five new LAMILUX PR60 glass roofs.

The architectural design of the Solemar thermal spa seamlessly combines curved forms and natural materials, resulting in a harmonious aesthetic. Crowning the roof of the spa, five impressive glass domes, crafted from the LAMILUX PR60 glass roof series, create a striking visual statement. Their segmented 18-sided structure and expansive glass surfaces allow natural daylight to flood the entire swimming area, enveloping it in a warm and inviting glow. This organic architectural design, paired with abundant natural light, fosters a soothing atmosphere that not only reduces eye strain but also rejuvenates both body and mind—a crucial element in the ultimate relaxation experience.

With freestanding diameters of up to 6.5 meters, these glass domes presented both structural and logistical challenges. To facilitate installation, the elements were delivered in the largest possible segments and assembled on-site. A crane carefully lifted the completed structures onto the roof with precision, showcasing LAMILUX's technical expertise in efficient logistics and installation.
